Cobra medics train basic life-saving skills to new security forces

Sgt. Vicente Ayala, a combat medic assigned to Company C, 4th Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, teaches new security force personnel how to dress a wound during a First Aid class, Aug. 8, 2008, at the Cobra Tactical Medical Clinic located on Forward Operating Base Falcon in southern Baghdad's Rashid District. Ayala, a native of San Antonio, said that the health care NCOs responsible for maintaining 24-hour operations at the Cobra TMC trained the security contractors on the principles of life-saving. "Everything they needed to know about initial patient care, we made sure they understood," he said. The medics of "Cobra" Co., 4th Supt. Bn., continue to volunteer themselves to train others on FOB Falcon.
