A fireman from U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay's Fire Department assists another fireman while scaling a building during fire drills here, Aug. 2. 2008 U. S. Naval Station Fire and Emergency Services conduct weekly training drills in preparation for yearly certifications to ensure they are able to protect the service members of the naval station and Joint Task Force Guantanamo. JTF Guantanamo conducts safe and humane care and custody of detained enemy combatants. The JTF conducts interrogation operations to collect strategic intelligence in support of the Global War on Terror and supports law enforcement and war crimes investigations. JTF Guantanamo is committed to the safety and security of American service members and civilians working inside its detention facilities.
