Firefighters from U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay's Fire Department hold a ladder for safety procedures while conducting ladder and climbing training during a fire drill, Aug. 2, 2008. Naval Station Fire and Emergency Services conduct weekly training drills in preparation for yearly certifications to ensure they are able to protect the service members of the naval station and Joint Task Force Guantanamo. Guantanamo conducts safe and humane care and custody of detained enemy combatants. The JTF conducts interrogation operations to collect strategic intelligence in support of the Global War on Terror and supports law enforcement and war crimes investigations. JTF Guantanamo is committed to the safety and security of American service members and civilians working inside its detention facilities.
