A member of 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment's Scout Platoon conceals himself in the vegatation and covers members of his squad-like element as they tactically move around homes scattered throughout the outskirts of a village in the District of Hawijah. The Scouts would next face a mile of calf-deep, muddy farmlands, and wade through chest-high canals filled with swamp-like water in order to reach their objective -- a high valued individual suspected of being a Improvised Explosive Device facilitator.
