U.S. Army Pfc. Christopher Alexander takes time to clean his weapon at Nangalam base, Sept. 10. The Fond du Lac, Wisc., native, serves as a gunner, 3rd Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment. Alexander said he joined the Army for the camaraderie. Third Squadron is at FOB Nangalam to support their Afghan counterparts in securing a specific route to the Chapa Dara District center.
