Several U.S. Army soldiers in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) pattern uniforms are loading ammunition into what appears to be a military helicopter, likely an AH-64 Apache, on a flight line in an arid environment. The soldiers are handling a belt of 30mm rounds, consistent with the M230 chain gun used on Apache helicopters. The setting and uniforms suggest a forward operating base in a desert region.

Armaments system repair crews from Company D, 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, inspect and load 30mm ammunition onto an AH-64D Apache Longbow on May 26. The 1-1 ARB Gunfighter air and ground crews work around the clock sustaining air operations and are part of the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, from Fort Riley, Kan., flying in support of Task Force Iron, 1st Armored Division, in northern Iraq.
