Airmen from the 193rd Special Operations Wing will bring to close a 54-year chapter in unit history as an EC-130J Commando Solo aircraft assigned here delivers its final broadcast.<br /> <br /> The EC-130J Commando Solo transmits air-to-ground civil affairs broadcasts in FM, TV and military communications bands. It has been in continuous operation since 2003 and is the only airborne Military Information Support Operations broadcasting platform in the U.S. military. The Air National Guard unit here will be phasing out all EC-130Js over the next two years, marking the end of 54 years of operating airborne MISO platforms.
