The Department of the Air Force is preparing to be a stronger, more lethal deterrent force. This includes enhancing readiness with more sophisticated operational exercises, changes to enhance the rapid deployment of forces, and the regular exercise of mission command. The 2025 Department-Level Exercise (DLE) series is an important opportunity to conduct operations in a contested, dynamic environment to deter competitor aggression where able, and to defeat threats to national security when necessary. This exercise series integrates the efforts of allies and partners at all levels to provide an advantage against competitors and adversaries across all domains to ensure regional and global peace and stability
