Children show artistry through Earth Day postersNatural Resources and Environmental Affairs visited the Twentynine Palms and Condor Elementary Schools to recognize the finalists of the first Earth Day poster competition, May 1, 2015. The theme for this year’s Earth Day was “think green, save blue,” to raise water conservation awareness throughout the community. The NREA wanted to bring more artistic ideas to this year’s Earth Day celebration and decided on a poster contest for Condor Elementary and Twentynine Palms Elementary.

Engineer Marines build new TACAN power supplyMilitary aircraft use a Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) system in order to locate a landing strip, even during inclimate weather. The TACAN is traditionally powered by a generator that runs off of diesel fuel.

U.S. Marines, Army Soldiers, Ugandans repair military vehiclesA pair of U.S. Marines with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa assisted the Ugandan People’s Defense Force inspect and repair three Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicles at Camp Singo, Uganda, April 13-17, 2015. The UPDF received the vehicles in early 2015 in order to support their troops in Somalia and meet operational requirements in the region. Only recently acquainted with the vehicles in February, the Ugandan’s needed some assistance to get the vehicles operating again.
