Spartans prove Infantry grit during EIB testingJOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska – Spartan paratroopers from the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division tested for the Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB) April 25-29 on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.

2016 U.S. Army Reserve Best Warrior CompetitionFORT BRAGG, N.C. – It was 2009 and he was a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps when he joined the U.S. Army Reserve. Three years later he competed for the top noncommissioned officer Best Warrior title. Thanking his lucky stars that the tactical-side of Soldiering mirrors the Marines, he studied tirelessly to learn the administrative-side of the Army. It almost worked. He was runner up for the 2012 U.S. Army Reserve Best Warrior Competition NCO of the Year.

Falcon Soldiers start privately owned weapons mentorship programRICHMOND HILL, Ga.—3rd Combat Aviation Brigade Soldiers took part in a new privately owned weapons mentorship program at the Richmond Hill Police Shooting Range May 2. The program started at the beginning of the year when 3rd CAB leaders asked volunteers to step forward and act as mentors for the Soldiers in their battalion. The mentors quickly made contact with experts in the local law enforcement and federal agencies to help train Soldiers on local laws. It came at the perfect time for Capt. Jarod Hahn, commander, Company A, 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, 3rd CAB who was mentoring a Soldier already.

1-30th wife leads by exampleSpouses across the Army dedicate their time to Soldiers through Family Readiness Groups. Hilary Porter has been the FRG leader of 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, for two years. Within the past year, she spent more than 100 hours of her time volunteering for events.
