On Aug. 26, Staff Sgt. Ty M. Carter (http://www.army.mil/medalofhonor/carter/) will become the fifth living recipient of the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War for his actions at Combat Outpost Keating, Afghanistan, Oct. 3, 2009. Vanessa Adelson, mother of Pfc. Stephan Mace, the soldier Carter is credited with carrying to safety after Mace was critically wounded, wants to share with the world how Carter's actions affected her family.
