North Carolina Army National Guard soldiers of the 878th and 875th Engineer Companies and the 621st Survey and Design, shovels flood waters from the motor pool in Boone, N.C., July 27. The waters were up to the soldiers calves when they arrived and successfully pumped out the water by noon. The soldiers worked to clear the lot of water before pouring three concrete pads to protect equipment in the motor pool from flood waters from a nearby creek. The project is slated for completion the first week of August.
