North Carolina Army National Guard Spc. Austin Hughes, of the 878th Engineer Company, 505th Engineer Battalion, shovels flood waters from the motor pool in Boone, N.C., July 27. Soldiers of the 878th and 875th Engineer Companies and the 621st Survey and Design worked to clear the lot of water before pouring three concrete pads to protect equipment in the motor pool from flood waters from a nearby creek. The project is slated for completion the first week of August.
