The Regimental Combat Team 6 Marine of the day is Lance Cpl. Justin Nobles, 22, radio technician, from Petal, Miss. He is married to Jacy Nobles, 20. His wife is a college student at Coastal Carolina. She is a certified as a phlebotomy technician and wants to be a nurse.

Nobles has been in the Marine Corps for two years. “I joined because I was looking to better myself and learn more about myself,” he said.

He said another influence in him joining the Marine Corps was a cousin he has who also served in the Marines.

“My cousin was in from ‘89 to ‘94,” he said. “He was medically discharged and would tell me stories about how great the Marine Corps was. I figured if I was going to join the military, I didn’t want to leave with anything but the best.”

Nobles says that the Marine Corps helped him decide to marry his wife of two years.

“I’m very appreciative of what it’s taught me,” he added. “If it wasn’t for the Marine Corps, I wouldn’t have been mature enough to marry my wife. It’s the best thing I ever did.”

His hobbies include reading mystery books and solving puzzles.

“I love my job,” Nobles said. “A broken radio is like a big puzzle. You just have to figure out all the pieces and see how it fits so that you can fix it and make it work.”

Nobles says he plans to attend college in the near future.

“Right now, my goal in the Marine Corps is to do the best job I can with the time I have left,” he said. “I want to re-enlist in the reserves and then go to college and become a cardiologist or anesthesiologist.”

Other activities which Nobles enjoys are hunting, fishing, off-roading, surfing and bike riding.

“Bike riding is me and my wife’s thing,” Nobles added. “We get on our bikes and we ride together. We go all over the place when I’m back home.”

“I’d love to say hello to my wife,” he said. “I love you so much and I wish you and my family well back home.”

NERD FACT: Nobles enjoys reading a lot. He says he has read the entire Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter collection.
