Lt. Ken Pitts, a platoon leader assigned to D Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, dismounts his armored vehicle along a highway in Baghdad on Nov. 18. Paratroopers with D Company are responsible for securing the route for convoys traveling south to Kuwait. The 2nd Brigade is the last brigade in Baghdad and is facilitating the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq. Pitts is a native of Edmond, Okla.
