Sgt. Eric Janson, an infantryman assigned to D Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, peers around from the cover of his armored vehicle toward a highway in Baghdad after hearing gunfire in the distance, Nov. 18. Paratroopers with D Company are responsible for securing the route for convoys traveling south to Kuwait. The 2nd Brigade is the last brigade in Baghdad and continues to partner with Iraqi Security Forces to facilitate the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq. Janson is a native of Fayetteville, N.C.
