Volunteers clean a playground at Pine Flat Lake near Sanger, Calif., Sept. 24 in celebration of National Public Lands Day. More than 60 volunteers turned out to help plant trees and build a new sand volleyball court and horseshoe pits at the park. Pine Flat was one of seven U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District recreation parks that participated in the event.
