U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Park Ranger Mongzong Xiong puts the final touches on a new horseshoe pit at Pine Flat Lake near Sanger, Calif., Sept. 24. With the help of more than 60 volunteers, Pine Flat park rangers planted trees and built a new sand volleyball court and two horseshoe pits at the park in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Pine Flat was one of seven U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District recreation parks that participated in the event.
