Volunteers at Success Lake near Porterville, Calif., shovel dirt for use on a walkway in celebration of National Public Lands Day Sept. 24. More than 250 volunteers turned out to help restore walkways, re-paint parking barriers and help at the park. Success Lake was one of seven U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District recreation parks that participated in the event.
