Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, board an amphibious assault vehicle July 21, during Talisman Sabre 2011. The Marines are among the many Marines and service members deployed to the region and bilaterally training with the Australian forces in support of Talisman Sabre 2011. Talisman Sabre 2011 is a biennial combined training exercise designed to train Australian and U.S. forces in planning and conducting Combined Task Force operations to improve Australian defence force/U.S. combat readiness and interoperability.
