Members of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force, prepare to exit an SH-60F Seahawk helicopter July 21, during Talisman Sabre 2011. MEB personnel revisited Rockhampton to further survey the area of operation to better understand the current exercise scenario. The 3rd MEB is currently deployed to Australia in support of Talisman Sabre 2011 where they are acting as the Marine Forces Command. Talisman Sabre 2011 is a biennial combined training exercise designed to train Australian and U.S. forces in planning and conducting Combined Task Force operations to improve Australian defence force/U.S. combat readiness and interoperability.
