Spc. Anthony Apilado reunites with his fiancée, Melinda Zauner, and his son, Austin, prior to a demobilization ceremony for members of the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oregon Army National Guard, April 30, in Tigard, Ore. Apilado, a member of Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, 41st IBCT, is one of about 100 soldiers who returned after nearly a year deployed to Iraq. Nearly 2,700 Oregon citizen-soldiers with the 41st IBCT deployed to Iraq to provide convoy security, force protection, and infrastructural support.
