Petty Officer 1st Class Wymeka Mahone, legalman, hands out a teddy bear to a student at Fern Grove Basic School in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Nov. 20. Mahone and fellow Sailors and Marines from USS Wasp participated in a community relations project at the school in which they passed out backpacks and teddy bears to the students. Wasp is currently deployed on Southern Partnership Station-Amphib with Destroyer Squadron 40 and embarked SCMAGTF. Southern Partnership Station is part of the Partnership of the Americas Maritime Strategy that focuses on building interoperability and cooperation in the region to meet common challenges.
