Isiah Parnell, Charge d' Affaires for the United States Embassy in Jamaica, shakes hands with Capt. Phillip Perdue, USS Wasp medical officer, outside of the Fern Grove Basic School in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Nov. 20. Perdue and a contingent of Sailors and Marines from Wasp delivered backpacks and teddy bears to the students at the school, who are between the ages of three and five. Wasp is currently deployed on Southern Partnership Station-Amphib with Destroyer Squadron 40 and embarked Security Cooperation Marine Air Ground Task Force. Southern Partnership Station is part of the partnership of the Americas Maritime Strategy that focuses on building interoperability and cooperation in the region to meet common challenges.
