Capt. Rodelio Laco, commander, Combined Task Group 40, hands out a teddy bear and a back pack to a student at Fern Grove Basic School in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Nov. 20. Laco and a group of Sailors and Marines from USS Wasp participated in a community relations project at the school aimed at furthering U.S.-Jamaican relations. Wasp is currently deployed on Southern Partnership Station-Amphib with Destroyer Squadron 40 and embarked SCMAGTF. Southern Partnership Station is part of the Partnership of the Americas Maritime Strategy that focuses on building interoperability and cooperation in the region to meet common challenges.
