The Jornada Mogollon Native Americans’ "Starry-Eyed Man" adorns a rock face at Hueco Tanks State Park. The painting uses a rare combination of two colors in its design. Most known cave paintings dated by science to the same period used only one color because obtaining the ingredients in the paint was difficult and time-consuming. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. James Avery, 16th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment)
