Marines engage targets while moving forward during Table 3 of the Combat Marksmanship Program Sept. 24 at the Central Training Area. Throughout the course, Marines fired headshots, hammer pairs, controlled pairs and “failure-to-stop” drills while maneuvering and pivoting at various distances. The CMP teaches Marines the essentials of handling their weapon and how to properly neutralize a threat. The Marines are with various units assigned to III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Pfc. Cedric R. Haller II/Released)
