U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Michael Martin, Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 172, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), shovels dirt used to fill a crater during an airfield damage repair practical application at Canon Air Defense Complex (P111), near Yuma, Ariz., Sept. 20, 2014. Capt. Martin is an Aviation Ground Support student attending Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course 1-15, a seven-week training event hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) cadre. MAWTS-1 provides standardized tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
