Both are assault amphibious vehicle crewmen with 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, which is currently attached to Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III MEF, under the unit deployment program.
