U.S. Army medical personnel assigned to the 307th Forward Resuscitative and Surgical Detachment, 307th Medical Brigade, U.S. Army Reserve, treat simulated injuries and perform medical evacuations to strengthen readiness at the Kenya Defence Forces School of Infantry, Isiolo, Kenya, March 3, 2026. The training demonstrated the unit’s ability to rapidly provide forward surgical and resuscitative care in austere environments, highlighting the critical role of the 307th FRSD in stabilizing casualties near the point of injury and improving survivability on the battlefield. The exercise also strengthened medical interoperability between the U.S. Army and the KDF by sharing expeditionary medical capabilities and reinforcing coordinated casualty response procedures during joint operations.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya and Tanzania, JA26 is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa.
