U.S. Army Sgt. Jalen Miller, 4th Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment, fires on a pistol range at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, on Oct. 9, 2025. U.S. National Guard Soldiers and Airmen from various states participate in Combat Pistol Qualification to ensure proper training and ability while assisting local law enforcement and emergency services during the DC Safe mission. About 2,300 National Guard members are supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission, providing critical support to the D.C.
