4k 60p b-roll of Specialized debris removal crews from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers utilize rope-access systems and specialized rigging to clear fire-damaged debris from steep hillsides in Pacific Palisades, July 26, 2025. As of late July, the Southern California wildfire recovery mission—the largest of its kind in USACE’s 250-year history—has successfully removed a cumulative total of more than 2 million tons of debris from over 9,000 properties across Los Angeles County. The complex operations in Pacific Palisades require high-angle slope access to remove hazardous materials and prevent secondary environmental impacts, such as mudslides, in the aftermath of the Eaton and Palisades fires. USACE is conducting the mission under a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mission assignment to restore safety and stability to impacted Southern California communities.
