U.S. Army personnel, members of the U.S. Civil Affairs Team 4334, 443rd Civil Affairs Battalion perform daily duties where they are stationed at Riga, Latvia, June 5, 2025. Events that took place over a week included the civil affairs team giving briefs to onboarding U.S. units while explaining the customs of local communities in Latvia, performing daily office duties, and collaborating with local schools for community engagement events. The most recent event involved discussing the U.S. and NATO’s partnership at the Atašiene School. This event featured an educational segment aimed at teaching the students about the U.S. and NATO presence in Latvia, concluding the day with outdoor sports and activities. V Corps, the U.S. Army’s only forward-deployed corps in Europe, participates in more than 50 exercises, symposiums, and leadership summits each year with Allied and partner nations to build capability and capacity along NATO’s eastern flank.
