U.S. Air Force aircraft maintainers from the 127th Air Refueling Group prepare a KC-135 Stratotanker for flight at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, in Detroit Michigan, on 30 September, 2024. A rotating group of nearly 100 Airmen from the 127th Air Refueling Group, and personnel from the 127th Mission Support Group, temporarily shifted KC-135 flying operations to Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport (formerly K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base,) and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, while Selfridge Air National Guard Base undertook routine flight line maintenance and resurfacing.
