Two Soldiers from the Utah Army National Guard competed against six other states and territories as the California National Guard hosted the 2024 Region VII Best Warrior Competition May 5 - 10, 2024 at Camp San Luis Obispo and Camp Roberts. Guardsmen from across the region earned the right to compete regionally after winning their state's or territory's Soldier or Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Award. The regional level showcases the adaptiveness, resilience, and lethality of our forces, affirming the readiness of National Guard citizen-Soldiers to meet the nations’ challenges. The winners will advance to the Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition this summer. These service members come from Guam, Hawaii, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and California.
