The Nebraska National Guard has deployed 80 Soldiers and Airmen to support requests by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Omaha Police Department to provide personnel for controlled vehicle access and traffic management at multiple neighborhoods impacted by severe weather. These volunteer service members integrated May 2 with local law enforcement at their assigned areas in the Ramblewood, Vistancia, Woodland Crossing and Bennington Lake neighborhoods. The Soldiers and Airmen are working in rotating shifts managing traffic control points and conducting roving patrols to ensure the safety and well-being of all within the affected areas.
