Happy Women’s History Month from the crew of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower! Today, we start our celebration and recognition of the countless forward-deployed women aboard CVN 69, past, present and future.
She is a warfighter, operator, and the foundation of a brighter future for our Navy. She is a critical part of the powerful driving force for excellence. Her legacy contributes to the success of our nation.
In 1994, five women made history flying combat missions for the U.S. Navy, all taking off from the deck of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. They are Lt. Kimberly “Face” Dyson, Lt. Sharon “Pinto” Deegan, Lt. j.g. Joy “Trigger” Dean, Lt. Lisa “KP” Kirkpatrick, and Lt. Lynn Fowler.
IKE is proud to celebrate Women’s History Month and recognize the women who have, and continue to, serve on the Best Damn Ship in the Navy.
