A 127th Wing A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft taxis to take off for an all-weather training sortie on Nov. 21, 2023. The routine training mission in adverse conditions provides ground and flight crews with the opportunity to maintain proficiency in poor weather, insuring the highest degree of mission readiness. The planes are flown by the 107th Fighter Squadron, one of the oldest flying units in the U.S. Air Force. Known as “The Red Devils,” the squadron has served on multiple deployments in recent decades, including launching aircraft to defend sovereign U.S. airspace on Sept. 11, 2001.
