U.S. Marines with 2d Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, conduct Exercise Manticore in Gabache, France, Sept. 16, 2022. Exercise Manticore is a French Army-led large-scale exercise that integrated the Marines into a platoon-sized maneuver element to conduct offensive and defensive operations. Operations with allied partners are critical because they exchange and standardize operational doctrines and create closer international friendships between coalition partners.
