Rear Adm. F.R. Luchtman, commander, Naval Safety Command speaks to the Navy and Marine Corps team in a public service announcement for the 101 Critical Days of Summer, which begins Memorial Day weekend and continues through to labor day weekend. More sailors and marines get hurt or lose their lives in these months than any other period of the year due to the increase in recreational activities, travel, driving, and heat. The Naval Safety Command provides defense-in-depth and ensures the naval enterprise is both safe to operate and operating safely.
