The Army Corps of Engineers' Engineer Research and Development Center's Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory's Remote Sensing GIS Center of Excellence has a unique group of engineers, scientists, and researchers who use Light Detection and Ranging, or LiDAR, to scan areas to create incredibly detailed maps of those zones.
Adam LeWinter, a CRREL research physical scientist, walks though the process of how LiDAR works, and shows off the incredible capabilities of the RS/GIS Center of Excellence's mobile LiDAR van.
