1st Lt. Benjamin Herbert and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Hamlett Almendarez, aviators assigned to Alpha Company, 1-229th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, host Cub Scout Pack 250 at Olympia Regional Airport, July 22. The Serpents provided a unique opportunity for the troop to earn their aviation merit badge. Some of the requirements the aviators helped the troop achieve were define aircraft, perform a preflight inspection, explain the purposes and functions of the various instruments found in an AH-64E V6 Apache, and find education and training required to become a pilot in the Army.
