Obon is an annual tradition celebrated in every prefecture in Japan. In Okinawa, Obon is three days long. This animation was made to inform SOFA status personnel of one of the most important cultural celebrations taking place throughout Japan. Most of the visuals depicted are exclusive to celebrations in the Okinawa prefecture.
