U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. David A. Krumm takes command of Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command, Alaskan Command, and the Eleventh Air Force from outgoing commander, Lt. Gen. Thomas Bussiere, during a change of command ceremony April 20, 2020 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Due to physical restrictions of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the virtual change of command ceremony was presided over via video teleconference by Air Force Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command, and Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Pacific Air Forces commander.
