U.S. Army Soldiers from the South Carolina National Guard’s 751st Combat Support Services Battalion, 741st Quartermaster Company from Allendale and Barnwell, South Carolina, set up the water purification system in Chesterfield, S.C., September 19, 2018, to provide clean water to local population should floodwaters rise and contaminate the fresh water utilities. Approximately 2,900 South Carolina National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have been mobilized to prepare, respond and participate in recovery efforts as Tropical Storm Florence caused flooding and damage to the state. The SCNG will continue its response efforts to protect and serve our fellow South Carolinians. (U.S. National Guard video by Master Sgt. Carl Clegg)
