A look at three fighter aircraft the newly established 349th Fighter Bomber Wing flew from 1953 to 1957 at Hamilton Air Force Base, California. For five years the Reserve Citizen Airmen of the 349th FBW soared over Northern California perfecting their dogfighting skills in the F-51 Mustang, F-80 Shooting Star and F-84 Thunderjet, but soon they returned to their roots, as cargo aircraft permanently returned to the wing in 1954.
