Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve deputy commander for operations and intelligence, Maj. Gen. (USAF) Chad Franks, took a backseat ride in an Iraqi F-16 at Balad Airbase Aug. 6. MG Franks flew with Maj. "Face" Hama of the Iraqi Air Force's 9th Fighter Squadron. The 9th Fighter Squadron has conducted several cross-border strikes in support of Operation Roundup, the Coalition and partners' offensive to accelerate the defeat of ISIS in the Middle Euphrates River Valley and Syria-Iraq border region.
