BROLL Package of Hawaii Army National Guard rover teams providing security on the Big Island. The soldiers drive around in High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMV) to patrol areas impacted by the lava flow. They report any suspicious any activity through their chain of command and civilian agencies like the Hawaii Police Department. The Soldiers also inspect landing zone areas to make sure they are clear to use in case of an emergency. Their presence can help deter crime and can keep away loiterers and trespassers.
