Apples, blueberries, pears, oranges, spinach, carrots, and much more are part of the USDA and DoD Fresh Program. This program not only provides fresh fruits and vegetables to the school lunch program, it is also a successful partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Defense Logistics Agency. In 2016, nearly 31 million students participated in the program—that’s a lot of healthy eating!
