188th Civil Engineer (C.E.) members are deploying the Disaster Relief Bed-Down Set (DRBS) in support of hurricane relief efforts at St. Croix, Virgin Islands. The set is part of a disaster relief system that consists of Housing, Shower and bathroom sets, kitchen, laundry and a water purification system. The set can house up to 150 personnel and will be used for military members and other relief workers. The 26 CE guardsman consisting of Engineers, Electricians, HVAC Engineers, Power Production Specialists, Plumbing Specialists, Heavy Equipment Operators, and Structure Engineers will be deployed to the Virgin Islands for 30 days or as needed. Chief Master Sergeant Gary Skelton, Red Horse Training Center Superintendent, explains who the 188th Civil Engineer members are and how the DRBS will support relief efforts.
